  • After the USA and the European Union (EU), the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has become the world’s third-largest humanitarian donor in the year 2025.
  • The UAE provided USD 1.46 billion in humanitarian assistance in 2025, while the total global humanitarian funding for the year reached USD 20.28 billion. This means the UAE contributed 7.2% of the world’s total humanitarian funding.
  • It is important to note that the UAE is the world’s largest individual donor country (as the USA and the EU are counted as groups).
  • The UAE’s humanitarian approach is based on neutrality and inclusivity, offering assistance without any discrimination based on nationality, religion, or ethnicity. This policy focuses equally on rapid disaster relief and long-term development projects.
  • The key areas of UAE’s assistance include crucial sectors such as health, education, energy, and infrastructure. Additionally, the UAE places strong emphasis on swift relief operations as well as long-term rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts.
