- Home Minister Amit Shah launched the Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) to provide convenience and faster travel experience for passengers.
- The immigration process will now be completed in just 30 seconds.
- This initiative is specifically for pre-verified Indian citizens and OCI cardholders.
- In July 2024, the facility was first launched at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.
- Later, it was extended to Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cochin, and Ahmedabad airports.
- By September 2025, the facility was launched at five more airports – Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram, Tiruchirappalli, Kozhikode, and Amritsar.
- In the future, the facility will also be extended to upcoming airports like Navi Mumbai and Jewar.
- The immigration process will now be completed in just 30 seconds.
- The process is based entirely on biometric verification and digital document authentication.
- Passengers will now be free from long queues and manual checks.
- The programme is in line with PM Narendra Modi’s vision of “Speed, Scale, and Scope.”
- Passengers will get a faster and smoother travel experience.
- The programme also showcases India’s modern identity and technological progress.
- Till now, nearly 3 lakh passengers have registered on the portal, out of which 2.65 lakh have availed the facility.
- In the future, there is a plan to integrate registration at the time of passport or OCI card issuance.
